About Us

The Handbell Ringers of Sun City is a chartered club of the Recreation Centers of Sun City (RCSC) in Sun City, Arizona. Membership is open to all Sun City RCSC Cardholders. Participation in our Performing Handbell Choir is open to RCSC Cardholders and invited guests.

Our Handbell Choir is a diverse group of up to 26 ringers with a wide variety of musical and non-musical backgrounds – some with over 30 years’ musical experience and others who are relatively new to handbells. We ring a double 5-octave choir, which means over 250 bells/chimes being rung, from the largest (bass) to the tiniest (highest) bells. We are members of the Handbell Musicians of America (HMA) and the Arizona Federation of Music Clubs (AZFMC), which is an affiliate of the National Federation of Music Club.

We enjoy ringing a wide variety of music, including some types not always thought of in connection with handbells! Our concerts may include Broadway show tunes, folk songs, swing, classical pieces, jazz, spirituals, or rock/pop. Visit our Home page for information about our next scheduled performance!

Rehearsals are Friday mornings from 8:30 am to 11:30 am at the Fairway Recreation Center. We perform two concerts a year at the American Lutheran Church of Sun City – one in late March/early April and the other in December – and occasionally one or more performances at other venues. We go on break during the summer months.

For general questions, please fill out the form on our Contact Us page, or call our club president, Debbie Thompson, at 602.882.9952.  To be considered as a ringer, submit the Potential Ringer Information form. We’d love to hear from you!
